What happens when a one-night stand turns into something more and war threatens to destroy the man Lacey fell in love with?
For Bryce, the Army was his life. There was no time for romance, relationships, or the drama that came with them.
That all changed when he met her.
Lacey had her own responsibilities to worry about.
Responsibilities that did not include falling for a tattooed bad boy in a military uniform.
Breaking all her own rules, she agreed to one date and the promise of a night of pleasure she’d never forget.
It was only supposed to be one night of unbridled passion between two strangers. But it quickly turned into so much more.
Come Back to Me is an emotional military romance that will tug on your heartstrings and keep you on the edge of your seat.
***This title is a re-release. Same title. Same main characters, a few changes, a brand new series, and a fresh new look.***

Come Back To Me will take you on a real emotional journey over quite a long span of time, when compared to most romance novels. We join Bryce and Lacey as they meet, we watch their courtship, then we see them settle into a committed relationship and follow them as they face trials in their life together. It’s not always easy to read and at times it is a little squirmish (there was even a tear or two) but I enjoyed it the whole way through.
When Bryce and Lacey first meet, they aren’t looking for anything serious. Neither of them thinks that their one night together will lead to anything more. Especially because Bryce is a committed army man who knows that he’ll be deployed shortly and then not be back for quite some time, so he’s quite settled in his bachelor lifestyle.
And Lacey has responsibilities of her own. She works two jobs and is carer for her elderly grandmother. Like Bryce, she doesn’t have time to think about anything than one night. But the best laid plans…
As you have no doubt guessed, the ‘just one night’ plan doesn’t last and Lacey and Bryce move forward with their relationship. But along the way they have to deal with tragedy, separations and other upheavals. And then there’s the emotional issues.
I didn’t always enjoy the relationship between these two, as it is harsh in parts, but that is absolutely true to the progression of their story. I really like both Bryce and Lacey. Lacey is strong, independent and willing to stand up for herself when necessary. Bryce has a slight case of tunnel vision in parts, but underneath it all he’s a good man going through a hard time.
This story doesn’t shy away from the harsh realities of the effects of war on a soldier. I will admit upfront that war and military service are 100% outside of my realm of experience, but in some small way after having read this story, I feel like I have at least the beginnings of an understanding of the issues that these people – and their families – may face. And while it was not always comfortable to read, it was always well handled.
If you’re looking for a story to emotionally move you, this one will suit you well. Thank you to The Indie Pen and Aubree Valentine for my copy of this ebook in return for an honest review.

Aubree Valentine began her book world career back in 2016 as a virtual assistant for a friend/author and as a blogger with Smokin’ Hot Reads Book Blog. While working with authors, PR companies and fellow bloggers, she fell even more in love with the Indie community and decided to launch her own small scale PR company where she continued to hone her skills as a virtual assistant to several authors and studied the ins and outs of what it takes to help succeed in the industry.
In early 2019, during an intense strategy session with one of her favorite author friends, they decided to join forces and take over the world. Or at least combine their know how and strengths when it comes to all things publishing, for the greater good, and therefore launched Forever Write Pr, LLC.
Aubree doesn’t always hang out behind the scenes though and has put her business knowledge to good use for herself as well. Her first book, Take Back My Heart, released in the fall of 2016, with its follow up – Come Back to Me launching a year later.
When she’s not working with her partner in crime, you can find her penning fun and flirty stories about all of her imaginary and very smexy alphas. This includes her current and most popular series, Too Hot To Handle.
Aubree has a degree in sarcasm and resides in Pennsylvania. She enjoys reading, chasing after her twins and her three fur babies, cuddling with her husband, and coming up with new project ideas that often involve power tools. She’s usually always online via Facebook or Instagram @authoraubreevalentine.
